Chore:self-improvement

Basically my take on how to slowly fix your life, from the smallest change possible. Result not guaranteed. Motivation sold separately.

Understand what a good life is:

  1. a good year
  2. a good month
  3. a good week
  4. a good day

Start small. You are born small, but now look at how much you’ve grown. ;D

Focus on yourself.

  1. Look at the mirror, you can be prettier.
  2. Clean environment = clean thoughts.
  3. Better looks, better self-esteem. Maybe a you need a new haircut or a clean shave.
  4. The internet sucks, get off it. While there are positivity, its just better to leave it for a moment and gather your thoughts.
  5. Touch grass, literally. It’s been scientifically proven that greeneries can boost your mood.

Balance things out. Prioritise these properly & carefully:

  1. Career
  2. Relationships
  3. Fun
  4. Finance

How to execute plans

  1. Set goals. Cant achieve them? Lower your standards. Set a floor goal and a ceiling goal. Still cant achieve them? Have you tried breaking them into smaller tiny goals instead of one big ol’ chunk?
  2. There MUST be some reasons behind your goals. (What | When | Why)
  3. slow motion > no motion
  4. Drag yourself through the mud if needed. Be your own motivator.
  5. Keep in mind that motivation is just a starter. Consistency work wonders.
  6. !(intensity > consistency). Consistency wins by a large margin.
  7. speed != good
  8. Still cant do it? Make a schedule, set alarms. Make the alarms as loud & embarrassing as possible to force yourself.
  9. Setup a cheat day. You can scroll as much as you like on this day. :)

Make it easy and make it obvious.

  1. Format: I will do x things at y time in z location.
  2. Example: I will read a book after lunch on my bed.

"Don’t waste your time or time will waste you." - Knights of Cydonia by Muse

Or so Muse sang. So here's the things:

  1. Set a date range. If your goal is to learn cooking, try to cook your own dinner for ten days straight. After you’ve achieve this, you can set a longer date range.
  2. Set a timer. If your goal is to read a book, then set a timer for 5 minutes every day. It might be a bit hard for the first few days. But it will get easier as it turns into a habit. Once you can do it easily, set the timer for a bit longer.
  3. Got excuses to not do the things you said you’d do? Make a list of all your excuses. See how dumb some of them are.
  4. Some goals are just as bad as Ea-Nasir’s copper. Quitting them means you can try other goals that might be gold.

Accept that shit happens. :'(

  1. Today might sucks, but you can try again tomorrow Right now might sucks, but today have not ended yet. I can do this.
  2. Take a break, look at the mirror and pep talk yourself. Crying is optional and fully acceptable.

Reflect on your progress:

  1. Pat yourself on the back.
  2. Self reward. No one will reward you for fixing yourself
  3. Achieving too much? Increase your goals. :D
  4. Not achieving much? Silently gaze back at what happened and try to look out for possible root causes.
  5. Still not achieving anything? Read this post again and again until its imprinted onto your brain. Maybe then you’ll get something.

🪄 Useful git spells

Navigating the world of Git can be akin to mastering an arcane art. For the savvy developer, knowing the right incantations can mean the difference between seamless collaboration and catastrophic code conflicts. Here's a compendium of Git commands that are essential for those critical moments. Handle them with care, for they wield great power. Reverting to a Specific Commit (Non-Shared Branches Only) When you need to undo changes and return to a known good state: `git reset --hard <commit-hash>` - This will reset your branch to the specified commit. `git push -f origin` - Force push the changes to overwrite the remote branch. Merging Branches Like a Pro To incorporate changes from one branch into another, follow these steps: `git checkout <branch-to-merge-to>` - Switch to the branch you want to update. `git fetch origin` - Fetch the latest changes from the remote. `git pull` - Pull the latest changes into your local branch. `git status` - Check the status of your branch...
